What is an Escalation League?
Our Escalation League is a 16 week event designed for players of all skill levels to come together and play some casual games of Warhammer 40,000 . Games throughout the league will be played at ascending points values (size of armies) to familiarize themselves with their forces while developing an army large enough for local events. The goal of the league is to serve as an introduction to new players, train existing players and most importantly, Have Fun!
How do I join?
- To register for the League, you can go to HOB's Game Cafe in Strathmore, fill out the registration form and pay an entrance fee that will go directly into the prize pool for the event. Additionally, any purchase of a Warhammer 40,000 Start Collecting Box or equivalent purchase during the registration period will automatically pay for your entrance fee. Players can join in at any time during the League
What are the rules?
- The rules are posted in their own page.
- In addition, we expect players to strictly adhere to the store's policy regarding 3D printed models in the Warhammer context.

Do I need to keep the same list throughout an entire points bracket?
- Yes, with a qualification. People are expected to use one list for all League games. However, ther are also Bonus games that allow you to experiement with other factions.
I haven't had time to paint my new models yet, can I still use them?
- Yes. While bringing painted models is encouraged and can help with the emersion of the play experience, we understand that painting can be a long process and the league's primary goal is to play games and have fun.
Can I bring my own terrain?
- Yes. As long as both players agree to the table setup before the match, feel free to show off your own terrain. However, HOB's maintains entire tables of tournament terrain for your convenience.
